Trading 4 cards when i have a 3:1 port

I was trying make a 4:1 trade when i had a 3:1 port. I thought this was a bug and it cost me the game. Any reason why the game does not allow you to trade 4:1? This would be a valid move in the game-board version .

Same thing happening to my games today, 3 player and 6 player game. 3:1 ports aren't working

I think it would result in people mistakingly trade 4 cards instead of 3
