Non-random rankings for players on equal points
As far as we understand it, if players finish on equal points, they will be ranked randomly.
For example, first wins with 10 points and the other three players all have 7 points. These players are all ranked randomly.
The suggestion is to have them ranked in some logical manner. This could be, say, number of trades participated in, or most pieces of road placed, or highest number of resource cards received.
Alternatively, it could be done by most settlements, most cities, or most development cards bought. But this would seem to unfairly reward / penalise players for following a particular strategy.

Dunc MergedOften 2nd, 3rd etc place is awarded when the VP's earned by players are the same. This causes some heartache as we like to get a clear 1st, 2nd and 3rd from each game. We are open to either the places showing as 'tied' ie 2nd Equal (for players on same VPs) OR the Colonist Wizards formulate a way to rank the places.

JohnPurportedly the devs try and guess who is most likely to score the next points, when determining rankings of players with the same points. Personally, I think they should just all get the same rank (give them both 2nd if they have the same score)

Satoshi AdminThere are a few characteristics of how you earned your points that determine the ranking:
Total victory points is the first ranking criteria.
The second is victory points achieved by Settlements and Cities alone.
The third is total victory points with largest army or longest road.
The fourth is victory points achieved by Settlements and Cities, plus victory point cards (without longest road/largest army).
Last one is random
