there's a suggestion for premium very slow games, and another for tournament layouts. I think saving a game/loading a game could be a way to achieve both of these (although I guess you'd need the option to create a layout too)

This would be great for playing an hour a day with the same people by being able to save and continue a game already in play. Game initiator and host is the machine game gets saved on. File should be encrypted so no tampering can happen.

Save from game screen and reload from lobby. Once all players are present, game continues where it left off. This would be great for testing multiple play scenarios with bots as well. Allow "save and exit" or "save and continue". Could also have "exit without saving" option. All players should have to confirm both exit options before game can end. Host can "save and continue" at any time without interrupting the game play. Restarted games can be played by the original players, or new players.
