Add Block Function

I'd like to see a function opposite to the idea of friends where you can add players to a 'blocked' list or at least 'flagged' for future reference. I've played with people before who are downright abusive in the chat but it's difficult to remember usernames to avoid playing with them again in the future and once you're in the game it's too late. Would rather this feature than muting everyone everytime because sometimes the chats are good

I would love to see this feature. I'm on the verge of not using this site anymore due to abusive language from several other players. I'm so very tired of having fun games ruined by a sore loser saying awful things about gender/race/sexuality. Please allow me to not only mute these ppl, but to flag these sad, abusive players. Even if neither of us are blocked from a game, please allow me to flag a player for abusive language so I know to not accept future public games with them.

Far too many times have I encountered a match where people are either abusive or blatantly cheating. After enduring a game with people like this we should be able to avoid them in the future. People like this truly ruin the experience and make me not want to return to the game after playing several hundred games, I'm really close to quitting. I've had to make a list of who to avoid when I play to kick when I host, but this should not be the case. Many other online platforms that have mostly open chats have the ability to block someone.

(1v1 game mode) From players who intentionally waste time to players who block your positions just to screw with you, only to end up against that player the very next round, and now again the next day. Please add the ability to block players from future matchmaking

If finding a game in matchmaker becomes a problem, perhaps limiting the amount of players you can block to 10 or something? I really agree with this suggestion as a negative experience in chat often leads to me quitting for the day, having bad feelings about the game, and could easily make someone quit the game forever.

Very good suggestion. It would be totally acceptable for me to wait a bit longer to match with someone to avoid repeatedly matching with extremely toxic people.

Would love to see this as I just played a game with another player one on one who after winning became abusive in the chat was very prideful and very demeaning to me. It was kind of odd as I usually end the game with the comment gg for good game. This was most appalling and does not benefit good player relations and what he said was probably against the rules and should get him banned.

Yes - I'm willing to wait longer. Chess.com has this feature and allows me to block stallers, time-wasters, and toxic language.

Some rivalries are getting too personal and it's about targeting a player and not playing the game.
I'm aware of blocking too many players will damage the matchmaking.
I'm not sure what is the right way to do it:
1. Temporary block
2. Block list with the options to unblock
3. Limit your blocked players to 20 (with the option to remove block)
4. Something else... but a block option is needed

Too many cheaters and stallers in Colonist now. I've decided to stop playing (except tournaments) until this is implemented. Nearly every C&K ranked game nowadays has at least one cheater and staller.

there is 1 player who everytime I am in a game with him (has happened a few times in the last week or so) he completely gives up on the game from the start and only cares about trying to make me lose. I would love to block this player so I don't have to play with them in the future

Block is a key function for multiplayer online games. To combat toxic players who will throw a whole game to grief. Apparently reporting isn't taken seriously.

An alternative would be to automatically turn off chat for certain people.

I'm curious what actually happens when we report someone through the system for abusing chat?

If you can't find a game because you blocked everyone, that's your own fault. Shouldn't have to play with people I don't like. Honestly I don't think I've ran into 'those people' again anyway, so I think there is enough players for people to have a block list. You could always go through your block list and unblock names you don't recognize if you're having issues matchmaking.

To avoid matchmaking or over-blocking problems:
1, When matchmaking, notify that a player (their username/reason for blocking) you've blocked is the game and give an option to "wait" or "play anyway"
2. Allow unblock after certain amount of time
3. Block option only available after reporting a player (or ask reason for blocking when doing blocking someone)
4. Allow options to block from chat in-game or fully block from playing with you

The solution is hiding nicknames in ranked names, and using generic nicks instead, like RED BLUE BLACK etc...

It wouldn't even have to be blocking. Just some sort of marker so I can avoid games with people with whom I have had bad experiences in the lobby. So I can decide wether I want to wait or give them another chance.

I believe this would improve the experience here by a lot. Since people might want to avoid being blocked by too many others.

Implementing it for the lobby shouldn't be as difficult as in matchmaking, so this would be a first step which could be build upon in the future.

Sometimes, players can be very rude and unpleasant, and I would like the ability to add them to a list of blocked names, where I will not be paired to play with them again in the future. Also I would be able to add players who bail out on a game because they rage quit and force the remaining players to play with a slow bot. Thanks!

i would like functionality opposite to FRIENDS.

now you can mark a friend. I would like to be able to set player to my blocking list . this will not block them for other players but more that they can not join my game, or that i can see that this is person that i dont want to play with because they are abusive or always quitting

There should be option to disable certain users from joining your table that you played with before and didn't enjoy it (this website is full of teamplayers and rude salty griefers). It will streamline process instead of kicking them off manually when they join. There should be option to input a user name which will make him unable to join your games from the start
