Allow users to change Country Flag

Right now it is IP-based on an open-source package that doesn't seem to be that accurate. It's a bummer when you are from one country but appear as another.

It'd be nice if (like chess.com) users could change their Country and thus flag.

It would be nice to have the option to change your nationality wihch would also change the regional leaderboards. I started playing on Erasmus and now in game I have the nationality of the country that I study in but I would like to change it to my real nationality.

I'm from Denmark, but since my profile was created on an norweigian satelite internet connection, then the game thinks I'm Norweigian. Would be nice to have possibillity to change flag, at least by having option to request server to check at a specific time.

Yes, PLEASE let me change from being from the Isle of Man! lol I am the only and therefore best Isle of Man player according to Colonist.... shame I live in Cyprus and was using a VPN the day Colonist decided where I live! Surely this should be an option to change in profile?

This is definitely needed as a lot of people have reported that the country assigned to them is incorrect and it sucks not being able to see the correct rank within your country.

I am currently living in Ireland and my Play Store location is also Ireland. But in the Leaderboard it still shows my rankings under "India" and not Ireland. I used to live in India till 2020, and have been living in Ireland for the last 2+ years.
Can we change my Country in the Account Settings to Ireland instead of India?

It would be great to change location though, since I'm in a regional competition, and it is really not possible to see where I stand against my competitors in my country 😦

Please consider this feature to change location according to current residency.

Similar for me, moved from HK to USA last year. Please allow us to change our location (or at least regularly update it)

As a member of the US military, I made my account while serving overseas. I would at least like to update it now that I'm back in the US, though I assume this doesn't affect matchmaking.

Bumping this topic.

Signed up in Belgium while I was on holiday there and now my country and region are both somewhere I have no connection to.
Would love to be able to change my location both for the sake of the display flag being my nationality and also to see how I rank against my fellow countrymen as that would be more interesting to me.

I understand that this might open the regional leaderboards up to a potential mess, with people choosing random locations for the sake of being top of a leaderboard, so I would suggest only allowing this e.g. once every 6-12 months or verify the location in some way.

This has been requested and highly upvoted for a while so it would be great to get any sort of update on this!
