Option to hold up to 8 cards instead of 7 in a 7-8 player game to be safe from discarding cards

Given that in a 7-8 player game, you may get a lot of resources prior to your turn, it would seem to be more fair if there was an option where you could hold up to 8 cards and be safe from having to discard half your cards when a 7 is rolled. This could just be an additional option to choose from, otherwise you could still choose to play the standard way and have 7 cards be the limit to have in your hand to be safe from robber/dice roll of 7.

You can. Start a custom game and change the "Card Discard Limit" to 8 (or whatever you want)
